‘They used to target bank clients’

Staff Correspondent: Four fake officials of Detective Branch (DB) of police, who were detained from the capital’s Motijheel area from Saturday night, used to target bank clients.

Joint Commissioner of DB Police Abdul Baten disclosed this at a press conference held at its media centre on Sunday.

The detainees are Shafiqul Islam Rana, Apel, Ibrahim and Imran.  

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested them in separate places of Motijheel area on Saturday night.

Police also recovered a DB jackets, a Walkie Talkie, toy pistol, handcuffs and baton from their possession.
