Month of Victory begins

Staff Correspondent: The ‘Month of Victory’ begins today (Tuesday).

On the 16th day of December, 44 years back, our country was liberated after almost nine months of warfare and the supreme sacrifice of three million people and the honor of almost half a million women.

A number of organizations including the Muktijoddha Sangsad (Freedom Fighters` Council) welcome the month through elaborate programmes. It includes human chains, lighting candles, victory rallies and tributes to freedom fighters at their graveyards.
