New law soon to protect agricultural land

Secretariat Correspondent: Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif has said that a new law will be enacted very soon in a bid to protect the country’s agricultural land.

The minister said this to journalists after a meeting of land use implementation committee at the Secretariat on Wednesday noon.

The minister said the committee underscored the need for proper land management, land development and use and protection of agriculture land.  

Presided over by Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif, the meeting was attended, among others, by Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Railway Minister Mujibul Haque, State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, secretaries of the different ministries.
