Per capita rises to $1,316

Economic Correspondent: Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said that Bangladesh has become a lower-middle-income country according to per capita income.

The Minister made the assertion while addressing the media after a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday.

He said that Bangladesh`s per capita income of the country has risen to $ 1,316 as per information of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.

Primarily the per capita income was $ 1,314, he added.

State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan, Planning Division Secretary Tariqul Islam and others attended the press briefing.
