PM for undertaking plans to reduce project costs

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the engineers to undertake new plans with a view to reducing project costs.
The Prime Minister made the call while addressing the 56th Convention of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the city on Saturday morning.
“We want to build Bangladesh as a developed country. We want to make it a prosperous one. So, we need the skill and merit of engineers” the premier said.
She termed the 1996-2001 period as golden as many development activities were performed during the time.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally opened the four-day convention that is being held with the theme ‘Engineers for Sustainable Development’.
Nearly six thousand engineers from across the country have made registration to join the convention. Besides, about 100 foreign delegates from China, India, Pakistan, the USA, the UK, and the UAE are attending it.
