PM terms 1996-2001 as golden period

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has termed the 1996-2001 period as golden as many development activities were performed during the time.

The Prime Minister said this while addressing the 56th Convention of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the city on Saturday morning.

The Prime Minister formally opened the four-day convention that is being held with the theme ‘Engineers for Sustainable Development’.

Nearly six thousand engineers from across the country have made registration to join the convention. Besides, about 100 foreign delegates from China, India, Pakistan, the USA, the UK, and the UAE are attending it.
