Laxmipur Correspondent: A Laxmipur court sentenced 11 people to death for killing Juba Dal activist Maulana Babar Mia in 2003.
Additional Sessions Judge M Saidur Rahman Gazi of Laxmipur District Judge handed down the verdict on Tuesday.
The court also acquitted four persons as charges against them were not proved.
The death-row convicts are Alam, Miraj, Manju, Mohin Uddin, Kala Munshi, Mamun alias Saiful Islam Mamun, Vuttu alias Abdus Shahid of Titarkandi village of sadar upazila, Moin Uddin of West Rajapur village, Morshed Alam of Gobindapur village, Masud of Jagannathpur village and Abul Bashar of Middle Gobindapur village.
Court sources said the accused chopped and shot Maulana Babar Mia of Titarkandi village to death on March 8 in 2003.
