Riders won by 69-run against Dynamites

Sport Desk: Rangpur Riders won 69 runs in the seventh match against Dhaka Dynamites in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

 

Earlier, Rangpur Riders captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored a challenging 176-run losing six wickets in their fixed 20-over.

 

Lendl Simmons scored the highest 51 runs off 39 balls with five fours and three sixes and was caught by Farhad Reza off a Mosharraf Hossain bowling leaving team total at 94 for 2 in 10.4 overs.

 

In addition, Mohammad Mithun, NLTC Perera, Shakib Al Hasan and Soumya Sarkar scored 34, 27, 24 and 18 runs respectively.

 

The cutter Mustafizur Rahman and Yasir Shah bagged two wickets each while Abul Hasan and Mosharraf Hossain picked up one wicket each.

 

In reply, Riders lost their wickets in regular interval. Brilliant bowling by ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan never really let Riders to fly high. Shakib took four wickets spending 16-run only from his four overs.

 

Besides, NLTC Perera, Arafart Sunny and Abu Jayed took, three, two and one-wicket.

 

Kumar Sangakkara was the top scorer for Riders. He took 29 while Nasir Hossain, Nasir Jamshed, Yasir Shah and Abul Hasan scored 15, 11, 12 and 10 runs respectively.

 

With this win, Rangpur Riders secured 4 points from three matches with two wins and one loss. On the other hand, Dhaka Dynamites have won one and lost one in two matches.
