River vessel strike: Govt in talks with owners

Staff Correspondent: The government officials are now holing a meeting with the launch owners to discuss the issue of river vessel strike enforced by workers.

The meeting began around 10.30am on Thursday at Labour Department in the city, Joint Secretary Aminul Islam confirmed.

Director of Labour Department SM Ashrafuzzaman, Joint Secretary Aminul Islam, President of Launch Owners Association Mahbub Uddin, Senior Vice President Badruzzaman Badal, Advisor Golam Kibria Tipu and other leaders are attending the meeting.

The river vessel workers have gone on a strike for indefinite period to press home their four-point demand.
