Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Father of Sabbirul Haque Konik, about whom a rumor was spread to be killed in the operation `Storm-26` by joint forces in Kalyanpur, filed General Diary (GD) with Baklia Police Station in search of his son on Saturday noon.

 

Abul Mansur, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baklia Police Station, confirmed the news.

 

Police said Bormuchha Union Awami League unit`s former president Azizul Haque Rashed`s son Sabbirul Haque went on missing on February 21.

 

According to GD, Sabbir went out of home saying to attend a marriage ceremony one of his relatives on Februay 21. He did not return since then.

 

On July 26, nine militants were killed in the operation carried out by joint forces and held one in bullet-injured.

 

After the incident, rumor spread that Sabbir was among the deceased in the operation. Later, his father confirmed that Sabbir was not among the militants killed.
