Salary, bonus for RMG workers before Eid demanded

Staff Correspondent: Leaders of different organisations of garment workers have demanded salaries, allowances and overtime payment of garment workers within Ramadan 20.

The demand was made with the banner of 25 garment workers organisations holding a rally in front of National Press Club on Friday.

Speakers said in the rally that Ministry of Labour Employment directed all industries including garment factories to pay salary, bonus for workers within Ramadan 20. But no initiative was seen yet two days left of the direction.

They said garment owners pay the workers at the eleventh hours of Eid every year. As the workers cannot get enough time to visit home, they cannot celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones. So, salary and bonus should be paid within Ramadan 20.
