Sundarbans to be safe place: Home Minister

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "We want to see Sundarbans as a safe place."

The Minister made the opinion while addressing a programme at Mongla Port premises around 3:00pm on Tuesday.

He said that according to the direction of the Prime Minister, several types of initiatives were taken to make Sundarbans as a tourist zone.

Home Minister said, "Robbers are treated as harmful people in the society and realizing the matter, they have surrendered today to the law enforcers."

These people started to return normal life, we will provide all types of legal assistance in this regard, he said.

Earlier, 10 bandits of Master Bahini in Sundarbans have surrendered to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) with 52 local and foreign made fire arms.

RAB-8 commander lieutenant colonel Faridul Alam said that through the surrender the robbers can return in normal life.

Faridul Also said, "The Home Minister reached Mongla around 2:00pm by a helicopter. Later, 10 members of Master Bahini bandit group surrendered formally around 3:00pm in presence of the minister.
