Pacer Mustafizur Rahman in the field
Risingbd Desk: The Sunrisers Hyderabad, a cricket franchise based in the city of Hyderabad, has bought Mustafizur Rahman for Rs.1.4 crores.
He was sold at the auction of players for Indian Premier League held on Saturday in Bengaluru.
With four left-arm seamers and as many deadly death-over bowlers in Trent Boult, Ashish Nehra, Barinder Sran and Mustafizur Rahman – they are all set to become the most dominating pace bowling force of the ninth season of Indian Premier League (IPL).
VVS Laxman says, "We are pleased to have a bowler like Mustafizur in our ranks. We already had a number of good seamers, but having Mustafizur means it all has just got better.”
Though Mustafizur was being considered as potentially one of the hottest properties of the day, Sunrisers were able to pick him for just INR 1.40 crore, which was also a matter of great joy for the Indian batting legend, “Mustafizur perhaps deserved more… (than INR 1.40 crore). But you see, we have got him in a formidable price, so he is definitely one of our best buys.”
