All militant outfits under surveillance: RAB chief

Staff Correspondent: Benazir Ahmed, Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), said law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring all militant outfits including new and old ones to avoid sabotage.

The RAB chief said this while talking to reporters after inaugurating a photography exhibition in the capital's Shilpakala Academy on Thursday.

Benazir Ahmed said the operations we have launched after Holey Artisan are basically based on Neo JMB. Their power is reduced to a great extent. This militant group has been scattered due to consecutive operations launched by law enforcers. But those who are staying outside the country are trying to regroup again. That’s why we are closely monitoring them so that they cannot launch further subversive activities in the country.

In reply to a query, the RAB boss said many of those who financed in militancy have been arrested and many of them have been traced. A huge amount of money has been recovered.

We are working to bring those financers to justice, Benazir added.
