Staff Correspondent: Police have vacated Taj Manzil where nine militants were killed by operation `Storm-26` by joint forces early Tuesday.

Police started vacating the house on Tuesday midnight. Some of the residents left the six-storey building willingly while others were removed.

After making the building empty, police set up check post there.

Many of the tenants have fallen in difficulties as they had to leave the house suddenly.

Confirming the news, Bhuiyan Mahbub Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mirpur Police Station, said higher authority directed to vacate the house as there are important evidences in it.

Local sources said the first three floors of the six-storey building were rented to family while the rest three floors were rented to bachelors for mess.

"There are eight tiny rooms in every floor of the building where lower-income families live," the sources added.

Atahar Uddin Ahmed, former custom official, is the owner of Taj Manzil situated on Road no. 5 in the capital`s Kalyanpur. He, however, does not live in the building. Police arrested him and his son.
