Ivy takes oath as NCC mayor

Staff Correspondent: The re-elected Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) mayor Selina Hayat Ivy has taken oath.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath at Shapla Hall of Prime Minister`s Office (PMO) around 10:00am on Thursday.

Elected 27 general councilors and nine women councilors of reserved seats also took oath at the function.

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain administered the oath to them.

Selina Hayat Ivy, the ruling Awami League candidate, won a landslide victory in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) election held on December 22, 2016, beating her nearest rival BNP`s Shakhawat Hossain Khan by 79,567 votes.
