Teenage girl found dead in capital`s hotel

Staff Correspondent: Police recovered body of a teenage girl from Hotel Anannya of the capital`s Shaymoli on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Beauty Akter, 20, was believed to strangle to death.

Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) sources said Sub-Inspector (SI) of Adabar Police Staion Mamun took Beauty`s body to DMCH on Sunday noon. He made the inquest report there. The body is now kept at DMCH for autopsy.

According to the inquest report, injury marks were found at different parts of Beauty`s body including neck and hands.

SI Mamun told risingbd that Beauty and a man named Monir took a room of the hotel at rent identifying them as husband-wife. Being informed by the hotel authority, they (police) recovered the body on Sunday morning.

Both Beauty and Monir`s names were found at the registered, the SI said.

"It is primarily cleared that Beauty was strangled to death. A case was filed in this connection. The so-called husband is on the run after the incident," he added.
