Thick fog disrupts air, water travels

Staff Correspondent: Three Dhaka-bound international flights have been diverted to Chittagong due to thick fog.

The airport’s manager Wing Commander Reazul Kabir said two of the aircraft belong to Malindo Air. They had flown in from Kathmandu and Kuala Lumpur. The other aircraft of Regent Airways came from Kuala Lumpur.

The flights landed at Shah Amanat air port in Chittagong after Friday midnight as densely fog covered the capital city Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the ferry services on Shimulia-Kewrakandi route were suspended at around 11:15pm on Friday as the signals and buoy lights could not be seen through the fog, BIWTC officials said.

Several hundred vehicles were stranded at Shimulia and Kewrakandi, the officials added.
