Two cases filed against MP Latif

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Two cases have been filed against ruling Awami League lawmaker MA Latif under section 57 of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act over Bangabandhu`s image distortion.

The cases were filed in the court of Judge Farid Alam of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

Former central Juba League leader Saifuddin Ahmed Robi and Chittagaong Metropolitan Awami League Vice-President A K M Belayet filed the law suits.

The photos of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were allegedly distorted in billboards by Chittagong Port and Potenga MP MA Latif during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina`s recent Chittagong visit.

The Chhatra League and Juba League leaders and activists have been protesting over the issue after it evoked sharp reactions against Latif on the social media.
