UAE embassy’s month long iftar distribution programme

Staff Correspondent: With the financial support of UAE Red Crescent and Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the embassy of United Arab Emirates has conducted a month long iftar distribution programme in Bangladesh.


As part of the programme, the embassy distributed iftar items among poor, orphans and common people in different parts of the country, says a press release.


Iftar items have already been distributed among 20,000 people in Dhaka, Tangail, Gazipur, Manikganj, Munsiganj, Comilla, Sylhet, Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Barisal, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Barguna, Gopalganj, Jessore, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhenidah, Chuadanga, Sirajganj, Bogra, Rangpur, Kurigram, Natore, Rajshahi,  Jamalpur and Lamonirhat districts.


The iftar items include juice, birani, etc.


At the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the embassy distributed seheri meal and iftar items like rice, lentil, oil, salt, sugar, dates, potato, etc among 1500 families.


The embassy also distributed improved quality dates and rice among poor everyday provided by UAE Red Crescent and Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. It is also distributing Eid dresses among the poor.
