Staff Correspondent: BNP alleged that the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is taking back its money funded in Bangladesh Election Commission project.  

The party claimed that international organizations lost interest on election observation after huge election engineering and violence in January 5 national and various other local polls.

BNP also said that development associates also are taking back their money due to lack of good governance.

BNP spokesperson Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon at a press conference at capital’s Nayapaltan made the made the allegations on Saturday noon.

He said that UNDP was providing training to Election Commission (EC) for free, fair and impartial election but the international organizations lost interest after the January 5 election.

Later, UNDP urged the government to find out faults of election management but, the government and election commission did not provide any assistance. As a result, UNDP is going to take back its money, he added.

Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon also said that the election commission became a brazen organization of the government.

Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukdar, Sanah Ullah Mia, Syed Moyazzem Hossain Alal, Abdus Salam Azad, Abdul Latif Jony, Shamimur Rahman Shamim and other BNP leaders attended the press conference.
