Arafat Sunny denied bail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has rejected the bail petition of Bangladesh spinner Arafat Sunny in connection with the case filed under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act by a 23-year-old woman, who claimed to be his wife.

The court of Bangladesh Cyber Crimes Tribunal Judge Saiful Islam rejected the bail petition after hearing on this regard on Wednesday noon.

The petition was filed on January 26 for which the court fixed today (February 15) for hearing.

Nasrin Sultana filed the case with the Mohammadpur Police Station on January 5.

She alleged that Sunny posted her nude pictures on the social media using fake Facebook IDs in June and November last year. She also claimed to have a love affair with Sunny for over seven years.

Sunny was arrested on January 22.

Nasrin also filed two other cases against Sunny -- one for torturing her and another over dowry.
