Walton’s wrestling completion to start on Sunday

Sport Correspondent: Walton, the country’s leading electronics, automobile and home appliance products’ manufacturer sponsored the ‘1st Open (Men-women) Wrestling Championship-2015’ which is going to start from Sunday.

The two-day long wrestling competition will start on September 6 and continue till September 7.  

Following the competition, a press briefing was held on Thursday where F M Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), First Senior Additional Director of Walton Group also Vice-President of Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation, general secretary of Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation, Tabiur Rahman Paloan and Joint-Secretary of the Federation Mesbah Uddin Azad and others attended.    

The wrestling competition will be held in 16 weight classes. Eight classes for female another eight for made wrestlers.

The weight classes for men wrestler are- 57, 61, 66, 70, 74, 86, 97 and 125 kilogram and women are- 48, 51, 55,60, 63, 69, 75 and 90 kilogram.

A total of six men and women wrestlers will get a scope to join in the practice camp of upcoming South Asian (SA) games.
