‘Militancy will be uprooted’

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia has said that all sorts of militancy will be uprooted from the soil of Bangladesh.

The DMP commissioner came up with the warning while speaking at a discussion organized by Bangladesh Betar at Osmani Smriti Milonayoton in the city Wednesday morning.

Asaduzzaman Mia said, “Militancy is a social and global problem, it is not a law and order problem, so all will have to come to prevent the militancy”. Those who attacked mosques and Eid Jamaats are not Muslim, he said.

Director General of Bangladesh Betar AKM Nechhar Uddin Bhuiyan presided over the discussion while Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest.

Samokal Editor Golam Sarwar, North South University Vice Chancellor Dr Atikul Islam and civil society members participated in the discussion.
