“Modern Jamdani industrial city being made”

Economic Correspondent: Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said that modern and planned Jamdani industrial city is being made for the devlopment of Jamdani industry.

The Minister made the comment while addressing an inaugural programme of 10-day long ‘Jamdani Exhibition 2015’ organized by Bangladesh Small & Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) and Bangladesh National Museum in capital on Wednesday.

Amir Hossain Amu said that the government is working to take replace historical Moslin by Jamdani.

He also said that the government is establishing an eye catching Jamdani industry and research center in 20 acres land at Noapara under Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj.

Already 399 plots of 409 industrial plots were allotted in the entrepreneurs, he added.

BSCIC Chairman Ahmed Hossain Khan presided over the meeting, State Minister for Jute Mirza Azam, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum Faizul Latif Chowdhury and other attended in the programme.

Varieties of beautiful and aesthetic Jamdanies including Terchha, Jalpar, Pannajar, Corrola, Dublajal, Bolihar, Shaplaful, Angurlata, Mayurpatchpar, Baghnali, Kalmilata, Chandrapar and Jhumak would be displayed at 38 stalls. The exhibition will start everyday at 10:00am and end at 8:00pm.
