10-day remand sought for 2 suspects

The two suspects- Saad Al Nahiyan and Masud Rana

Staff Correspondent: Police on Friday sought 10-day remand for each of the two people over allegation of their involvement in blogger Niloy Chattopadhyay killing.

The detainees are- Saad Al Nahiyan and Masud Rana.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) additional deputy commissioner (media and public relation) SM Jahangir Alam Sarkar said that Saad Al Nahin was an enlisted accused of blogger Asif Mohiuddin killing case.

Getting bail release, Nahiyan came out from jail. The two accused also member of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). So, thinking all issues, police sought 10 days remand for them, he added.

Earlier on Thursday, the law enforcement agency members detained Nahin from capital`s Uttara area while Masud Rana from Mirpur.

On August 7 (Friday), unnamed assailants hacked Niloy to death inside his house in Dhaka after  Juma prayer.

Gonojagoron Mancha activist Niloy is the fourth blogger to have been killed this year by suspected Islamist militants.

Later in the evening, a group identifying itself as Ansar Al Islam claimed the responsibility for the murder in an email sent out to almost all media outlets.
