2 ‘dacoits’ lynched in B’baria

Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Two suspected dacoits were lynched by an angry mob in the district on Tuesday night.

The incident took place at Belalnagar village under Chhafiullakandi union in Bancharampur upazila.

One of the deceased was identified as Jibon Mia (55).

Bancharampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Angshu Kumar Deb said a gang of robbers were taking preparations to commit robbery.  Being informed, angry locals gave them a severe thrashing, leaving two of them dead on the spot and severely injured another.

The injured is Kamal Mia (40), son of Ratan Mia of Gosaipur village in Nabinagar upazila. He has been admitted to Bancharampur Upazila Health Complex.

Jibon Mia was accused in several robbery cases, police claimed.
