Parliament Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the Awami League led government has sent 46 lakh 79 thousand and 229 workers abroad in two terms of its reign since 2009 to 15 June in 2017.
The premier told this to the parliament while replying to a question of Rajshahi-3 lawmaker Ayen Uddin on Wednesday.
She said, "During the tenure of previous alliance government, Bangladeshi workers were only sent to 97 countries. The number has currently been raised to 162. The incumbent government has also taken massive initiatives to open new labour markets for Bangladeshi workers.
