9 BCL women injured in clash over plucking guava

Staff Correspondent, Barisal: At least nine female leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been injured in a clash between two rival groups at Barisal Brojmohun (BM) College.
The incident took place at Banomali girls' hostel of the college on Friday noon.
The injured are BCL leader Munira Akter Moni, Sharmin Akter, Maria Hossain, Kanta Islam, Israt Jahan, Jhumur, Fatema, Jannat and Misty.
Of them, Sharmin, Maria, Israt were admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital.
Being informed, Vice Principal Professor Swapan Kumar Paul, supervisor SM Nasir Uddin and others concerned with the hostel along with police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Confirming the news, Vice Principal Professor Swapan Kumar Paul said a probe committee would be formed in this connection. Legal steps would be taken against those were involved in the incident.
