970 bottles of Phensedyl seized in Tangail

Police seized 970 bottles of Phensedyl along with a private car from Gobindabasighat area under Bhuyapur upazila in Tangail on Wednesday morning.

Rashidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhuyapur Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, “On tipped off, a team of Bhuyapur police set up a check post at Bangabandhu bridge east intersection. A private car from Northern Bengal was signaled to stop there. But driver avoided the signal and was heading to Bhuyapur rather than stopping the car. Police chased the car and seized it at Gobindabasi area. Later, a total of 970 bottles of phensedyl were found in the car.

However, driver and his associates managed to flee the scene before law enforcers reached there, he added.
