ACC hotline gets 92,000 calls, 315 complaints

Senior Correspondent: The hotline, launched by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) just few days back to receive graft allegations directly from complainants, is getting a huge response from general people.

The watchdog already has got some 92,000 phone calls from people and 315 specific complaints.

Within ten days (July 27 to August 6), the authority received 92,415 phone calls.

Checking call record data, ACC system analyst (director) Rajib Hasan told risingbd.com, "The people are more alert now after launching the hotline. People's tendency has increased to make complaints. ACC could not reply maximum people. But, the computer software of the ACC hotline received the phone calls."

He also said, "We have submitted more than 300 complaints to Anti-Corruption Commission. We are considering all the information seriously from the phone callers."

Following Hotline-106, ACC secretary Abu M Mostafa Kamal told risingbd.com, "We are getting huge response after launching hotline. The most positive matter is- people from rural areas are complaining."
