ACC hotline to launch from July 27

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to launch a hotline to record allegations of graft.

The hotline '106' will launch its journey from July 27 officially.

People can submit their complaints over the number from any mobile phone operator and it will be free of cost.

Though the hotline has already launched on test, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will inaugurate the service on July 27 officially.

The public relations office of the anti-corruption body revealed the news.

ACC officials chaired by its chairman Iqbal Mahmud held a meeting at the commission's head office in the capital on Sunday.

According to the meeting sources, the hotline service will initially start its journey with a 13-member team. Four to five officials ranked similar to assistant director or deputy assistant director will receive the phone call all time.

However, there will be no official to perform the duty permanently. Officials will perform the duty following roster from 9:00am to 5:00pm in working days.

Meanwhile the anti-corruption body appointed its assistant director Selina Akter Moni as the manager of the call centre.
