AL leader attacked in Magura

Magura Correspondent: A local leader of the ruling Awami League (AL) had been attacked by miscreants at Kalukandi area of the district's Mohammadpur upazila on Thursday noon.

The AL leader was identified as Abdul Mannan, general secretary of the upazila Awami League.

Local sources said Abdul Mannan was going to Magura court by a motorbike from his Bethulia village. Some four to five miscreants stopped the bike at Kalukandi and beat him, leaving him injured.

Later, supporters of Abdul Mannan blocked the road for an hour demanding justice over the incident.

Toriqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station, said police have started drives to detain the culprits.
