AL leader dies of coronavirus in Khulna

A local elderly leader of the ruling Awami League has died of coronavirus in Khulna.

He was known as Md Asaduzzaman, 70, a resident of Aichgati village under Rupsa upazila. He was vice president of Aichgati union unit of Awami League.

He died on way to Khulna Coronavirus Dedicated Hospital on Tuesday noon.

Rupsa Upazila Health Officer Dr Anisur Rahman confirmed the news.

He said Asaduzzaman had been infected with coronavirus 5/6 days ago. He was in isolation at his home.

On Tuesday, he was suffering from shortness of breath. So family members were taking him to Khulna hospital, he added.

With this, a total of 14 coronavirus patients have died in Khulna so far.
