ASP Mizan murder: Report on Sept 5

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court fixed September 5 to submit report in the murder case of Mizanur Rahman, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) of Highway.

Judge Mazharul Haque of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court passed the order as the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case failed to submit the report on Sunday.

Earlier on June 22, the court ordered to submit the report conducting investigation into the case after the statement was pressed before it.

According to case statement, ASP Mizanur was found dead near Birulia bridge of Rupnagar adjacent Mirpur on June 21.

Deceased's younger brother Masum Talukder filed the case against unknown accused on the night.

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (West) are inquiring into the case.

Shah Alam, an accused in the case, gave confessional statement before the court.
