Anti-plastic campaign held in city

An anti-plastic campaign was held in the capital’s Gulshan, Banani and Mohakhali areas on Wednesday.

The lake cleaning program jointly done by European Union, Gulshan Society and Prokriti O Jibon Foundation. The awareness event was held in the areas as a part of the EU’s global campaign against plastic pollution.

Over 100 volunteers including a delegation of the European Union participated the cleaning campaign. European Union delegation jointed the event to create awareness on the negative impact if plastics for our ocean, water bodies and in general for our environment.

European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink, Swedish ambassador to Dhaka Ms Charlotta Schlyter, Denmark envoy Winnie Petersen, Switzerland ambassador René Holenstein, Gulshan Society secretary general Barrister Shukla Sarwat Siraj, Gulshan Lake Committee member Iva Rahman and others joined the function.
