Arrest warrant issued against Dr Yunus

An arrest warrant has been issued against Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus on charge of sacking of three employees of Grameen Communications.

Dhaka 3rd Labour Court chairman Rohibul Islam passed the order on Wednesday as Yunus failed to appear before court following its summon.

His lawyer, Razu Ahmed told the court, Dr Yunus is an honorable person. He is staying outside of the country due to his business. He will be appeared before the court returning home.

Earlier on July 3, Abdus Salam, Shah Alam and Emranul Haque, junior MIS Officers of Grameen Communications filed the case with Dhaka 3rd Labour. Later, the court, summoned him on October 8.
