Bangladesh adds 2,996 Covid-19 cases, 33 deaths in a day

A total of 33 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 3,471 in the country.

Besides, a total of 2,996 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 2,63,503.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Tuesday (August 11).

1,535 Covid-19 patients have recovered in past 24 hours, and 1,51,972 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8, she said.

“We've carried out tests on samples collected from across the country and 2,996 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 2,63,503” she said.
