'Bangladesh is on right track'

Pabna Correspondent: Director General of International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) Mr. Yukiya Amano said Bangladesh is on the right track for installing nuclear power plant following IAEA guidelines.

Director General of IAEA expressed his satisfaction after visiting the Rooppur nuclear plant site on Monday.

“Ensuring safety and security is important for the nuclear power plant. Bangladesh government is working with the IAEA to launch the Nuclear Power plant. IAEA will continue giving its support to Bangladesh for launching the power plant ensuring the highest safety and security measures.” The IAEA DG said.

“Bangladesh learns how to achieve the milestones for the nuclear plant. IAEA is convinced that Bangladesh has followed the IAEA guidelines for achieving the millstones step by step for installing the nuclear power plant in the country.” Amano said.

Yafes Osman, minister of Science and Technology, high officials of the ministry and project officials attended the programme.
