Bangladesh wants trade boost with India on river route

Secretariat Correspondent: Bangladesh seeks expansion of trade and commerce strengthening the waterway connectivity with India.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came up with the opinion when Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das paid a courtesy call on her at the latter’s official residence Ganobhaban in the capital on Monday.

After the call on, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the reporters.

PM’s Press Secretary said, “They discussed various bilateral issues of common interest of the countries.”

He said, “During the call on, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stressed the need for strengthening the waterway connectivity between India and Bangladesh aimed at promoting the trade and commerce.”

PM’s Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman was present during the call on.
