Biman cancels all domestic flights

Staff Correspondent: The authorities of Biman Bangladesh Airlines cancelled all flights on domestic routes as the repair work of Biman's two airplanes is underway.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines operates its flights in the country's eight routes as well as different regional routes with the airplane of Dash-8 model. Of the two airplanes, one remains almost out of service all the time and the other gets crippled at this time.

Following this, the concerned authorities came up with the decision to cancel all flights on domestic routes.

Passengers are suffering a lot due to the cancellation of all flights on domestic routes. Besides, an uncertainty has surfaced in operating flights of homebound people on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Biman is supposed to operate special flight from tomorrow alongside the regular flights on domestic routes.

Making sure that one of two Dash airplanes is in service on Wednesday, Biman's assistant manager (public relations) Tasmim Aktar said a flight was operated to Cox's Bazar this morning with this airplane and later the airplane was used to carry its passengers to Myanmar around 3:30pm after it returns to Dkaka.

Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be used to operate flights on domestic routes if the other aircraft is not back to its service tomorrow, Tasmim Aktar said.
