Bus driver held for harassing CU female student

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Chattogram police arrested a bus driver on charge of harassing a female student of Chattogram University.

The detainee is identified as Md Abbas, hailed from Mulapattan village of Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola.

According to the complaint from the female student, she was going to her tuition station from Chakbazar area on a bus of route 1. But, she had to sit on engine cover of the bus. Meanwhile, the bus driver harassed the varsity girl. At one stage, she tried to protest the incident but driver assaulted her.  

Later, the student wrote a post over the incident which created agitation among the countrymen.

Following the issue, BRTA executive magistrate SM Manzurul Haque conducted a drive and arrested the driver.
