Changes coming in question paper formulation process

Staff Correspondent: The government is going to bring some changes in the process of question paper formulation to prevent leak in public examinations.

Using technology, the authorities want to make the whole system automated with an aim to complete the process with minimum human resource.

For this, the Education Ministry has already formed four high level separate committees. Some 38 teachers and officials of different levels will work in the committees.

Of them, three sub-committees have been formed to recommend over making question papers and its management.

To implement their recommendations, an independent committee has also been formed.

The committees were formed in a meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday.

Secretaries for Education Ministry and officials of the Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and Dhaka Education Board attended the meeting.

The committees will recommend for necessary steps after scrutinizing reports of different sub-committees of question paper printing.

They will also recommend over technical confidentiality and security for making question papers along with searching the possibility of using technologies and the high level security in the formation of questions and reception.

The committees also talk to different authorities to arrange the examinations in fair manners.

Professor Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman of Dhaka Education Board, said question papers will be sent through e-mail in the morning of exam day, after making them using technology. Risks of question paper leak will decrease if printed question papers are provided just before a few minutes of exam start schedule.
