Chinese company to invest in Chattogram EPZ

A Chinese company named M/s Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Limited is going to launch a leather and artificial leather products manufacturing industry at Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Chattogram.

Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) and Ms Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Limited inked an agreement in this regard on Wednesday.

Chinese entrepreneurs are assuming Bangladesh’s EPZ are safer and profitable following the ongoing coronavirus pandemic situation, Bepza said.

The foreign owned company will invest1.02 million USD, which will create employment opportunity for 764 Bangladeshis. Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Limited will produce 10 lakh pieces of belt and wallet per year in the factory.
