A Chinese medical team is set to fly for Bangladesh next week to help the country combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The medical team is expected to arrive in Dhaka on June 8.
The team, organized by the National Health Commission of China, consists mainly of ten experienced physicians from Hainan Province.
The medical team will stay in Bangladesh for two weeks and provide advice, assistance and guidance to Bangladeshi experts in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic.
They will also visit the treatment centres, laboratories and quarantine centres where the affected patients are fighting against the disease.
At the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in Bangladesh, there was a phone conversation between the Prime Ministers of the two countries on May 20.
Recognising Bangladesh as a friend of China, Chinese President Xi Jinping has assured all-out cooperation in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, the Chinese government and several Chinese companies have been providing medical equipment to Bangladesh in various steps.
