Cox’s Bazar goes into lockdown from Saturday

Cox’s Bazar district has been divided into three zones -- red, yellow and green -- based on the severity of Covid-19 pandemic in order to prevent the disease from spreading further.

The local administration is going to impose a lockdown for two weeks from Saturday (June 6) in three zones of the district to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Cox’s Bazar Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ashraful Afsar confirmed this.

He said Cox’s Bazar district has been divided into three zones -- red, yellow and green -- in order to prevent the Covid-19 disease from spreading further.  Activities of zone-based lockdown will be effective from Saturday.

Cox’s Bazar Police Super ABM Masud Hossain said a committee has been formed to monitor the lockdown activities. If the situation will not improve, the lockdown period will be extended further, he said.

He warned of stern legal actions if anyone violates this order.

“I request everyone to stay indoors to keep yourself, your family, and the country safe from coronavirus," he further added.
