DITF to remain closed on Jan 31, Feb 1

The Election Commission (EC) asked the commerce ministry to keep 25th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) closed on January 31 and February 1 following the Dhaka City polls.
A letter signed by EC election management wing-2 deputy secretary Atiar Rahman was sent to the secretary of commerce ministry on Tuesday.
The Election Commission has decided to keep DITF on January 31 and February 1 for the sake of fair and peaceful environment ahead of Dhaka North and South City Corporation polls, according to the letter.
About 25,000 police member, 1,000 Armed Police Battalion(APBn) and 35,000 Ansar men will be deployed during voting day. So, it’s not possible to deploy forces in the trade fair separately.
