DU student killed in Himchhari landslide

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: A tourist was killed and three others were injured in landslide at the district's Himchhari on Saturday afternoon.

The victims went there to enjoy beauties of fountain.

The deceased was identified as Sabbir Alam Ridwan, student of the Department of Marketing in Dhaka University (DU).

However, the injured could not be identified immediately. They were admitted to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.

Md Mozammel Haque, In-Charge of Himchhari Police Outpost, said several fresh fountains get created at Himchhari area of Marine Drive Road in Teknaf every rainy season. On Saturday afternoon, a group of tourists came for taking bath in a fountain near Himchhari Bridge no. 4. Suddenly, a part of land of the mountain fell on them, leaving four trapped under it. They were immediately rescued ant took to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where Ridwan was declared dead.
