‘Doctoring can help to keep the world alive’

Niloy Farhana is a doctor, a fashion blogger and a makeup artist. In a recent interview with the risingbd, she talks about her experiences, plans and different sights of her life which are given below.

Hello, how are you?
Niloy Farhana: I’m fine, Alhamdulillah.

From where you completed your S.S.C and H.S.C?
Niloy Farhana:  From Sylhet Blue Bird High School & M.C College.

Tell us about your university life! And which subject you were reading in?
Niloy Farhana: I read in Bangladesh Medical College and surely in medical science.

Where are you working right now?
Niloy Farhana: I’m currently working in a renowned diagnostic center in Dhaka as a radiology consultant.

Where you used to live in your childhood? Tell us one memorable story from your childhood!
Niloy Farhana: I spent my childhood in Sylhet. One memory is that I used to go to grab ice cream every Thursday with Abbu.

Do you want to give any advice to an 18 years old yourself?
Niloy Farhana: I would like to suggest to her that please worry less.

Is there anything that you wanted to achieve from your childhood and now you have got it? If yes, then what is this and how do you achieve this?
Niloy Farhana: I always wanted to travel and Alhamdulillah now I do it a lot by my own hard earned money.

In this moment we all know we have some precious free time. But as a doctor we all know you have to work everyday for the nation. I appreciate you for doing that. How does it feel to work in this kind of situation?
Niloy Farhana:  It feels great. To be honest I never valued my profession and knowledge more than now! I feel when everything is collapsing, this is one profession beside other frontliners working hard to keep the world alive and it really makes me feel proud to be part of that.

So, you are a doctor and this is a noble profession I must say. A lot of sacrifice and patience are needed for being a doctor. Since when did you want to become a doctor? And how’s your experience becoming a doctor?
Niloy Farhana:  I always wanted to be a doctor as long as I remember and I had a great time in my medical college in this process. I made good friends and it was amazing how my professors became my colleagues now as they call to ask my expertise in my fields. I’m totally graceful, Alhumdulliah.

Besides that you are passionately doing blogging and you are doing great in this. Since when did you think that you can be a fashion blogger too besides becoming a doctor?
Niloy Farhana: It was after returning to Bangladesh when I felt more about how much resource we have in this fashion and how rich our culture, craftsmanship and Deshi products are.

Doing all of those tasks you may stay busy all day long, but in your free time what do you like to do the most?
Niloy Farhana: To pass time, I loved to read a lot and also love to listen songs.

Right now we are passing through a very critical situation. What will be your advice for everyone who is reading your story today?
Niloy Farhana: I would say to everyone please stay at home, wash your hands, stay safe, maintain social distancing,  be sensible, be vigilant and help the people in need.

After 10 years where do you want to see yourself?
Niloy Farhana: After 10 years definitely, I would like to see myself as an established doctor as well as doing something for upholding the Deshi crafting and make more people understand the value of it.

In your journey who were always beside you and whom you want to say thanks the most?
Niloy Farhana:  I want to thank Rafael who always inspired me, also my best friend Swarna for being there my whole life, Ruby for making my medical life fun and Rupa, Shaily for teaching me more about saree everyday.

So, in series #30days30souls you are one of those 30 people. How do you feel to take part in this?
Niloy Farhana: It is my absolute pleasure and I am honoured to be part of this and I can’t wait to read about others too. Thank you so much.

And also, there are 29 more people like you who are passionate about their work and doing great for the world. Do you want to give any message to them?
Niloy Farhana: I would like to say to them that please keep doing what you love, no matter how difficult it seems. Please don’t forget to do part of your social responsibility. Let’s connect and work together if it crosses our path. Stay blessed.
