Don’t follow instructions of MPs-Ministers, HC to UNO

The High Court (HC) has strongly reproached and warned an Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and an education officer for their involvement in interfering in a college matter and disrespectful manners with principal despite court embargo.

The officials are known as UNO Md Sohag Hossain and Dhaka Education Board College Inspector Professor Harun Or Rashid.

They made disrespectful behavior with Kabi Nazrul College acting Principal and interfered in a matter of its managing committee.

The HC bench of Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore and Justice Mohammad Ullah came up with the order on Tuesday.

The court fixed February 10 for further hearing rejecting petitions of their unconditional apology.

The court told them, “You are servants of people’s republic. So, do not lead yourselves with the instructions of MP, Ministers and Upazila Chairmen. Lead the administration neutrally.”

The court also asked, “Do you follow their instructions for promotion?”

The court further said, “You are BCS qualified officials. Do not get involved in local politics. Carry out responsibilities properly. Promotion comes to you spontaneously.”
